Past Performance

Wakulla County, Florida: New Emergency Operations Center

  • This facility will serve as the command center for the county, an emergency shelter for first responders and the 911 dispatch center. It is designed to withstand a Category 5 Hurricane with 165 mph wind loading. The center is being designed for a 50-year life cycle.  The building consists of 8,500 square feet with an estimated cost of $3.2 Million.

William J Rish State Recreational Park: Hurricane MichaelStorm Repairs

  • A state park and recreation area, managed by the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities for disabled persons and their families.  HDGA has been involved in design and construction projects for this park since 2013.  In 2018, Hurricane Michael caused severe damage to several existing structures that were either completely destroyed or experienced moderate damage. New structures include accessible Beach Access Ramp, Pool Cabanas, Boardwalk Rest Areas, a Family Cottage, and the Manager’s Residence. Construction Costs are $2.1 Million.

Florida Dept of Management Services: Elevator Replacement/Repair in Pepper, Holland, and R.A. Gray Buildings in downtown Tallahassee.

  • These elevator repair projects include the modernization and replacement of the elevator and fire cycle systems in these three state-owned buildings. The RA Gray’s 5 elevators were original from the 1970s; all were replaced. The Holland housed only 2 elevators original from 1948. The Pepper housed 4 elevators that were original from 1989. The combined construction costs were $1.85 Million.

Florida Dept of Management Services: ADA Assessment Survey & Attack Plan

  • The entire scope of work encompassed over 1 million square feet of professional office and ancillary service space. The project task was to document any conditions that were non-compliant and develop an “Attack Plan” to make recommendations for corrective action. The professional fees associated with this report was $185,000.00

Leon County Board of County Commissioners, Leon County Florida: Courthouse Weatherproofing & Annual Inspections

  • HDGA was originally contracted to prepare construction documents for the removal and replacement of 22 miles of linear exterior caulking and the application of an exterior stone sealer. However, when the caulk was removed, approximately 30% of the stone façade panels began falling off the building. Forensic inspection revealed the substrate adherence had failed. An owner requested a ‘Change Order’ directing our office to develop construction documents detailing a construction methodology for re-adherence of the stone panels to the substrate. The total cost of construction for replacement of caulking, stone sealant, and stone re-adherence $320,000.00.
