Wachs supplied over 40 management support staff, 175 welders, 25 machinist and additional positions to support the MAB and Nuclear Island. CA20 module for Plant Vogtle- Wachs Services performed the weld out of the CA20 module at the Vogtle facility using GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding) and GMAW (pulse mig weld process) on carbon and duplex materials. Wachs used an automatic GMAW (pulse mig weld process) where the welder views the weld on a monitor by using a video camera mounted on the weld head. When welds were required in smaller more confined areas, for example inside a wall, mirrors were mounted on the tig torch to reflect the image back to the camera and therefore transferred back to the monitor.
